Current visitor policy

Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose is committed to the safety of our patients, colleagues, physicians and volunteers. Our visitor policy is subject to change without notice based on the current COVID-19 cases in our community.

Visitor policy effective of September 22, 2022

Visiting hours are 8:00am – 8:00pm, 7 days a week.

Two visitors allowed per non-COVID+ patient. Visitation with COVID+ patients is not permitted. Exceptions include:

  • visitors for patient in critical condition, when death may be imminent;
  • parent or guardian visitor(s) of pediatric patient;
  • support person(s) for patient with physical, intellectual, developmental disability, or cognitive impairment.

Universal masking continues to be required for everyone in patient care areas. Visitors who choose not to comply with masking requirements will be asked to leave the facility immediately.

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.
