Good Samaritan Hospital Celebrates National Hospital Week and National Nurses Week This May

Good Samaritan Hospital is celebrating the invaluable contributions of its employees, physicians, nurses and volunteers throughout the month of May. From May 7-13, the hospital is recognizing its entire team as part of National Hospital Week. And, from May 6-12, Good Samaritan Hospital’s nurses will be honored as part of National Nurses Week.

National Hospital Week, which is presented by the American Hospital Association (AHA), is an opportunity to thank all of the men and women who are dedicated to providing the highest quality health care and the most compassionate patient and visitor experience at Good Samaritan Hospital. The week’s theme is “The Healing Heart of Healthcare,” and employee acknowledgement will be featured throughout the hospital.

“Good Samaritan Hospital continues to build on our 50-year history serving the Silicon Valley community. It’s because of our first-rate team that we have received countless national awards for our quality medical care, said Joe DeSchryver, CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital. “National Hospital Week is an opportunity to thank all of our employees for always coming together and putting our patients first.”

National Nurses Week, sponsored nationally by the American Nurses Association (ANA), specifically salutes the excellent care provided by nurses at Good Samaritan Hospital. The theme for the week is “Nursing: the Balance of Mind, Body, and Spirit,” and will thank nurses for their devotion to treating patients as unique individuals.

“The nurses of Good Samaritan Hospital go above and beyond for their patients,” said Good Samaritan Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer, Darina Kavanagh, RN. “Nurses are at the front line of patient care and hospital experience, and our team is dedicated to each individual we treat. Being a nurse means answering a call to care, to be human, and to listen. I’m proud to lead the Good Samaritan nursing team and to spotlight their constant compassion for our community.”
