San Jose Hospitals Offer Online Pre-Registration to Patients First in Santa Clara County

San Jose, CA (11-29-11) – Two San Jose hospitals are the first in Santa Clara County to offer patients online pre-registration for their upcoming procedures.

Patients at Regional Medical Center of San Jose and Good Samaritan Hospital are now able to pre-register online through each hospital’s website. This specifically includes patients who already have a procedure scheduled such as surgery or diagnostic imaging, expectant women needing to pre-register for their baby’s delivery and Breast Care Center patients. Patients may also request appointments for screening mammography on-line.

Mike T. Johnson, CEO of Regional, said, "Today’s consumers have come to assume quick and easy, personalized business encounters — from online banking to booking airline tickets. With Online Pre-Registration, we are providing healthcare options to our patients with the level of service and choice they expect."

"This online approach helps to ensure that we have accurate and updated insurance and personal information about the patients, and simplifies the registration process once patients arrive at our facility," said Paul Beaupré MD, CEO of Good Samaritan. "This gives our patients increased control of their healthcare experience and greater flexibility in the pre-registration process."

Online Pre-Registration offers security as well as convenience. The program is an initiative of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), the largest private hospital system in the country.

To pre-register online, patients go to the hospital website and select Online Pre-Registration. More information for our patients can be found on the hospital websites.
