Cancer Care
Good Samaritan Hospital Offers the Finest in Cancer Care.
We offer comprehensive cancer services, with everything you need, all close to home. Our experienced, highly dedicated physicians and staff listen to you, calm your fears and treat you with the most advanced medical technologies available. Our goal is to provide compassionate care with quality treatment and superior outcomes.
Good Samaritan is designated by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center. Fewer than 25% of the nation's hospitals qualify for this designation that requires meeting stringent standards of multi-disciplinary care. In 2005, Good Sam was the only hospital in northern California to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons. Only 39 hospitals in the country received the Outstanding Achievement Award.

Our cancer services include leading-edge diagnostic procedures and high-quality treatments in chemotherapy, radiation therapy and support services for our patients and their families. A team of highly trained, dedicated radiation therapy staff and board-certified oncologists collaborates to give our patients the best care possible. And, our oncology social workers visit each patient and his/her family to provide emotional support and referrals to local support groups.
In complex cancer cases in which several treatment options may be considered, we hold weekly tumor board meetings, composed of cancer surgeons, oncologists and other specialists, so that we can determine the best course of treatment, resulting in the best possible outcome for our patients.
Good Samaritan is also a member of the Association of Community Cancer Centers, an organization that defines quality care for patients with cancer. We make sure we meet all ACCC standards for cancer treatment.
Our goal is to provide our patients with the highest quality of care in an environment that meets their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
