Opportunities for Adult Volunteers (over 18 years of age)

Auxiliary Volunteers Good Sam San JoseGood Samaritan Hospital has many opportunities to serve the community. The Auxiliary is our volunteer organization, and the Auxiliary's purpose is to provide assistance wherever needed in the hospital. We do not perform medical or nursing duties. Instead, our dedicated volunteers bring an extra touch of friendliness and comfort to the patients and visitors of Good Samaritan.

No special skills are required, though they are appreciated. We work with our volunteers so that their assignments closely match interests, skills and experience. Most volunteers come in once a week for 3-4 hours; a minimum of one year of service is required. Our wide range of placements and shifts ensure we can arrange a volunteer schedule that's convenient for you whether you prefer week day mornings or an evening or the weekend.

Volunteers provide patient comfort and enhance the patient experience in more than 20 different service areas at Good Samaritan Hospital, our Mission Oaks campus and the Breast Care Center. Volunteers are involved in medical, surgical and rehabilitation patient services, escort desk, gift shop, mother baby services, pediatrics, pharmacy, cardiac care and the emergency room.

It's easy to join the Auxiliary and volunteer at the hospital.

To learn more about the Auxiliary, prospective volunteers should plan to attend one of our information meetings. Check our Community Calendar for our Information Meeting Schedule.

Volunteer Application Forms

All applicants must download, print and complete an Application Form to join the Auxiliary. Applications are not accepted by fax or email; please bring your completed application, including background check form to the information meeting that you attend.
